A meeting was held on the 20th of October

at which Mr. Roseway of the War Office, Ir. Calder, Er. Clauson and myself were present. The various

items in Hong Kong's claim were discussed, and I attach a brief note of the upshot of the discussions.

It was agreed that we should write to the War Office

on the lines indicated in this note. On some

points some further investigation has been necessary, hence the delay in sending this on.

(1) Water Works. I have not been able to trace

in the previous correspondence much support for our
